Political Career
David Agius was first elected to the Maltese Parliament in 2003 and has since served continuously as a Member of Parliament. Over the years, he has held a number of important roles, contributing to legislative work and representing the interests of his constituents.

Current Responsibilities
As Deputy Speaker, David Agius plays a key role in overseeing parliamentary proceedings and ensuring the effective functioning of the House. In his role as Shadow Minister for Sports and Voluntary Organisations, he focuses on advocating for greater investment in sporting infrastructure, promoting grassroots participation across all levels of sport, and championing the vital contributions that voluntary organisations make to Maltese society. He consistently pushes for stronger government support for clubs, federations, and the thousands of volunteers who form the backbone of community life in Malta, while also holding the administration accountable for its commitments to the sporting sector. He is also the Vice President of EUCDW within the EPP structures.
